Planning for food sovereignty: Co-Creating a path forward

In patnership with Indigenous nations and Canadians of African descent across Turtle Island (Canada)
2021-2024

In 2022, Black and Indigenous communities across Canada came together to explore what food sovereignty means to them. Through this exploratory work, many connections were made across the land, stories unfolded and new working groups and even a nonprofit were formed, all with a focus on black food sovereignty. As Canadians of African descent and Indigenous groups came together for the first time, there was a lot of learning from the richness and backgrounds of so many different traditions and stories around food sovereignty.
